Introducing bottle feeding to a 4 month old

Teaching mom how to give her son a bottle after experiencing lots of frustration at home with caretakers and father trying to give him a bottle. What was taking an hour with lots of crying and frustration at home. Now with this technique baby was able to do a complete bottlefeed comfortably relaxed and under 20 minutes

I also RARELY leave comments but this worked for us! :( We've been trying for 3 weeks with Philips Avent (4 diff nipples) and Pigeon bottles (2 different nipples). Also experimented with milk temp from cold to warm. I tried freshly pumped milk and stored milk. Eventually learned I have high lipase milk.


Today because of this video, baby is now wanting the bottle with this position. Eventually settled with Pigeon Wideneck Bottle with SS nipple. Milk is warm. He took in 5 oz of my milk and a donor's milk (since I only pump 1 to 2 oz).

Also, I tried to give the bottle first (mom) like in the video. After 2 successful tries, my husband succeeded as well :)

This video just saved my life. My wife went back to work and I was driving our 4 month old to my wife’s job twice a day so she could feed because she would NOT take a bottle. This really works!!! I just started yesterday introducing the bottle and he would not accept it. I was researching and found this video . As the nurse said the key is the pressure on the belly. At the beginning I was not doing it correctly and then I paid attention to everything she was saying and the key is definitely the pressure on the stomach.

This vidoe is so helpful for me and my baby.. I am thankful that i have watched this. This technique is so effective. First attempt, 2nd and so on were all successful. My baby is 8 months old and I am transitioning her to a bottle as I will start working soon.
I put a freshly pumped breast milk and made sure it is at room temperature. Then, I fed my baby in our nursing room.
At first she would cry but once I put the bottle in her mouth she instantly suck, no more dramas.

My little boy (4 months) is struggling to take a bottle after a brutal week of vomiting bug and first two teeth. He is much more comfortable in this position (first time not crying hysterically) but still struggling to latch on to the bottle. He is trying to feed but thrusting his tongue out! This really works, we were trying for a week to give baby a bottle at 4 month+, she was completely refusing, but this works for first time. If you are tired, give this a try. I uses avent natural respose bottle, that works best.

My baby will gag and throw up if a bottle is given to her…she doesn’t even deeply latch either and we’ve checked for ties but just never worried about the latch because my supply was never affected and she is gaining the correct weight but now that I need to go back to work the nipples on bottles seem to make her gag and I don’t know what I am going to do
