Tackle Test 14 - Mini Baits

John Crews is back to testing new bass fishing lures. This time he tests 3 "mini" baits. He tests the Z Man Mini Max Chatterbait, the SPRO Bronzeye Pop 50, and the Megabass Karashi Shad. Listen as John explains his view for each of these and when they might work to catch bass for you.

The Karashi is awesome for exactly what you were saying, mimicking those tiny minnows on the surface. It slays the big hog crappie in the evening when everything slicks out and the crappie rise from those brushpiles to hit those no see ums. HT Moroco and GP Flying Gori mimic them well! Tight lines yall!

The guys that developed the Karashi use long spinning rods and keep the rod up high and twitch em constantly I looked a long time and found some for $16. I am waiting for the few I ordered and I can’t wait to try them on the heavy pressured water I fish at Fayette County Texas.

Congrats on the dominant win today!! I'm using the super bowl to atch up on some YouTube. I've added a few of those frogs and chatterbaits to my bag. I got a feeling I'm going to love these smaller chatterbaits. You mentioned having "very bad eyes". I'd love a video on your eyewear covering situational lense colors and thoughts on prescription lenses. I found myself wearing contacts with regular sunglasses but have been considering a prescription pair. Keep up the vids and good luck in the rest of 2022!!

Got my 5 year old son a few spro jr frogs for Christmas. He had one blow up on Saturday evening and scared him so bad he almost dropped his pole!!!! Those other baits look good as well. Have a good one!!
