Points which the recap didn't mention.

1) They had a dead bedroom. Wife refused due to his p*rn obsession (which was why he got rid of his computer during the challenge).
2) The doctor was also married, and put his ring back on after the MMC confronted him about MMC's wife.
3) The nurses at the hospital were telling the wife that MMC wasn't "real" in his actions, thus sabotaging his efforts.

So MMC's wife didn't know the doctor she was emotionally cheating with was married!

I think the entire concept of the movie was that the husband was the better man who made the bond special making his wife regretting her actions.

I think she truly believes that she can her get no one better because its he who forgave and loved harder.
The wife wasn't the main protagonist but the husband and its a tale of his efforts that saved them not hers.

This is confirmed at the end when his father reveals that it was his mother who saved the marriage when he was lost and wanted to leave.

What a fucked up story. Dude she cheated. There is no mercy on cheating. Every mistake or sin or crime in the world can't forgiveness, there are crimes, for which there is no mercy, and cheating is one of those crimes.

Caleb made many changes… looks like he got saved, took accountability and then did some hard work on himself and to save the marriage. As a Christian, it was clear to me he needed to make changes as a husband to make the marriage work.

What about Katherine - the wife? Did she own up? Did she make any changes? Maybe she did, in the full length movie.

If she didn’t, that is troubling. Seems like in the west we’re afraid of holding women / wives accountable, even in a movie. That perhaps wives too should take a long look in the mirror, ask God for forgiveness, get spiritual counseling from good & Godly wives and make changes to be a better wife.

I'm a christian and commend the husband for healing his marriage. But realistically speaking, she took no accountability for how selfish SHE had been. She did nothing, said nothing and felt nothing until she realized that she was getting benefits from her marriage. Perhaps she DID work a lot, but none of that work but her jobs don't risk her not coming home like his does. This is an L movie.
