We're Renaming Plant Chompers — Here’s Why

I prefer Plant Chompers. It is more memorable. It also sits in a sweet spot: not too clinical / serious, and not too sensational / sales-y (like viva longevity)

I personally liked that the name was way out there. Viva Longevity is so vanilla and generic. Plant Chompers is so fun and cool

The only concern I would have with the new name is that people may associate it with the latest craziness about extending life with supplements and other stuff. As one of the comments says, quantity over quality.

I have to admit I’m a little disappointed. As a fellow earth scientist, I liked your broader focus on not just human health but also the health of the planet, including animal welfare. Health span/ longevity are interesting topics but your channel is so much more.

I think Plant Chompers has humour to it - not taking itself too seriously. Viva Longevity is surely going to be amongst a myriad of such names - as it is the current craze focus on health. I kinda think changing the name is assumption that people don’t understand & need clear-cut direction. Oh, & there’s Viva Frei out there - tho he is definitely not a plant chomper

Not the biggest fan of the change. The purpose of a plant-based diet isn't soley for longevity, but rather to avoid the needless suffering of animals and to reduce one's negative impact on the environment. Although unpopular, you've made videos about the environmental impact of diet. Given your background, I think a name that promotes the the health benefits of a plant-based diet, that also takes into account the environmental benefits, would be more appropriate. I have no idea what that would be though lol. I'll still watch regardless 😉

Don't like either one of your choices. As an older person (74), the focus on longevity irritates me - quantity over quality. Yet quality = health. The latter is my main concern, not how long I exist. BTW, WF-plant-based for 9 years, before that vegetarian for 24 yrs.

Plant Chompers is so much more interesting, and I agree with some others that the longevity focus might turn off some people, but I hope you do reach more people with the new name. Whatever you name the channel, as long as you keep doing what you've been doing, I'll be watching and learning. Thanks!

I prefer that you'd call it what it actually is: Science based nutrition. Very few channels go into as much detailed depth to validate and substantiate an argument for or against something.

Not a fan of the name change. It’s almost as if longevity is the only thing that matters. What about ethics, animal cruelty, environmental impacts? I assumed Plant Chompers embraced veganism. Now it looks like they want to avoid it.

It sounds a little generic but also too focused on long life when the environmental and animal impacts are equally interesting and important parts of your videos. Viva life!

So eating plants is now controversial?! Plant Chompers is not the same as Exclusively Plant Chompers. By all means do what’s more effective, but when plant based is too much for people to bear, maybe we are losing our north a little bit.

This channel, more than any other, has had a profound impact on my life. I don't care what you call it, but if your market research suggests a name change would grant a broader audience, then I support it. Thank you for all that you do. People don't understand how much time and effort it takes to make these agenda-less, science and literature based videos. Forever grateful ❤❤❤
