"Learn Linux TV Classics" is a collection of older tutorials that don't necessarily have great production quality compared to more recent vidoes on this channel. This Python series was created right before the channel had its production quality increased, so while it won't measure up to the visual quality of newer content on the channel, this series may still be beneficial to those of you that wish to learn Python. Enjoy this series, and definitely check out the newer content on Learn Linux TV for even more learning.

This is good. I dabbled in Python a few years ago but found the exercises unrewarding (address books etc.) so hope that there will be more about Linux admin work I can actually use.

The Python REPL may be useful for trying out one or two lines at a time, but beyond that it gets unwieldy.

This was originally developed just for Python (under the name “IPython”), but now you can use it for other languages as well.

Jay, great video. I'm reviewing Python. Noticed you said that Ctrl+D was the command to get out of the python REPL (console), but it must or should be stressed that this is Ctrl+(Uppercase D) which is actually Ctrl+Shift+d. This may confuse some folks.

Another video typing in a dark box where the top line is half cut off and 2-3 letters at the beginning of each line are not viewable, then the FAST switching from screen views to screen views checking to see if the code works and NOT allowing the newbie enough time to read the output before switching back to the view of the guy talking, don't really need to see the guy talking we can hear you we really need to see what the result of running the code was long enough to read and THINK about what were reading.
Can you suggest Python tutorials for DUMMIES that has a easy to read dark box with LARGE text that the borders are not cut off?
Thanks
