Making of a tadelakt bathtub

Показать описание
We made this bathtub in november 2013 for a client in The Hague, The Netherlands. We documented the process in this video.
First we made a base of cellular concrete blocks. We then roughly build a shape and cut and carved the final shape out of it.
After that we plastered it with a strong cement based plaster on a netting. As a finish we used Moroccan tadelakt. A waterproof plaster based on limestone. By polishing the plaster on the right moment it becomes waterproof and soft as silk.

Is it strong enough? I would have thought you would need reo for strength?

white/cream colored concrete -- perhaps with flower imprints or neutral flecks -- and polished! I can see it! What would be the pros and cons of a polished concrete bathtub? I would not want to end up busting myself up simply trying to enjoy a nice bath.

Very nice idea. Is it guaranteed not to leak?

What a beautiful work, great inspiration! Did you use a "polish" for polishing or did you just "polish" it? And what is "the right moment" for polishing it to become waterproof and soft?

Have you ever had problems with mold with the tadelakt process? I'm wondering about this for a new bathroom??

Sad video. This could have been a great video if it was edited better in details
