My dad was so excited to play through rdr2 but he passed away before he could get to the end. Pretty sure he didn’t make it past horseshoe overlook. I couldn’t bring myself to pick the game back up until years later. And when I finally played through it and Arthur died, I cried for a good 2 hours because it kinda felt like I lost my dad again. But I hope he was watching me play through it, that way he got to see the ending of the game with me.

This makes me realize Arthur's portrayed so well. A lot of characters in games fail too have emotions portrayed properly, but if you look close with Arthur, you can see everything just in his face.

Arthur really is a bad ass. I recently replayed the game. Upon getting to the tuberculosis part from that point on he’s constantly coughing, I’d pan the camera to look at him and his face is always one of anguish. He fought through all of that and fought Micha to help those he cared for. I can only imagine the amount of pain he was in everytime he coughed as well as… TB also affects not just the lungs but the brain and other organs if left untreated. Being the time he was in he must have been in excruciating pain every day.

Arthur Morgan isn’t just a video game character. He’s one of the best written fictional characters of all time. Complex yet flawed but deep down has a heart of gold.

In his final days Arthur Morgan chose not only to turn his back on his old life but helped people and stood up for what was right.
