First, I applied a thick layer of Citristrip (my favorite stripper), covered it in plastic wrap to keep it wet, then let it work overnight.

Second, 2011 me had no idea how to paint furniture. So, I used latex wall paint on this. It’s designed to be flexible and sort of rubbery to be durable on walls. That kind of paint is easy to peel off furniture but not ideal.
Furniture paint should cure quickly to resist indents, provide great color, and a tough, protective, pretty finish. That wall paint did none of that.
Now I use chalk paint, acrylic paint, or latex paint mixed with plaster of Paris and water (DIY chalk paint) to paint furniture.
BUT, peeling that off was SO SATISFYING! 😎

I do the same with like 30% vinegar(diluted to 12-15%). Citristrip is great and a good product no need to do much else but coverband wait

The cover you put on the stripper you used acted like the lid on a pressure cooker and allowed the gases from the stripping process to give force for the stripper itself to be forced and absorbed into the finished paint thereby making the paint come off like a big omlet 😊

Whoever painted this nice piece of furniture did a great job, because it is easy to strip and now you can see the pretty wood grain that should have been lacquered in the first place.

I have a headboard that I was covered in the fake wood laminate (?). I ended up using some flex paint on it and now I’m second guessing it. Have you ever tried to remove paint from a laminate surface?

Really wanna do this to my door because it's close to the kitchen and turned all yellow over the years(about 13 years or so). I'n painting my walls rn because my parents always skip them when repainting the house. They aren't visible for people is their excuse. Well I took matters into own hands but they won't let me do the door because then the other doors will look too different and I would hsve to do it for, let me count, 9 other doors😮
