How to Apply Teak Oil

This video will help you understand how to use and apply Teak Oil. We discuss Teak Oils properties; drying time, benefits, sheen etc.

Our Teak Oil is formulated using a traditional recipe of pure, high quality Tung and Linseed Oil so is completely safe and non-toxic. This blend of oils allows the Teak Oil to not only restore the beauty of old and weathered teak furniture, but it will also protect and waterproof exotic wood and hardwoods.

Teak Oil can be used to seal and protect unfinished or bare wood and to also maintain it on an ongoing basis. Ideal for garden furniture; treating your furniture with Teak Oil will help prevent it from weathering as it holds UV protection agents which slows down the greying process of not just teak, but all other interior, and exterior wood. If this has happened to your furniture already, you can use our Garden Furniture Restoration Kit to restore the attractive honey colour to the teak.

Using Teak Oil from the day you purchase your teak will help the wood stay in better condition for longer.

Drying Time: 4-6 hours

Hi Craig, I have the exact same teak oil. I knew it was good to use a cloth to apply it but i wasn't 100% sure so a quick YouTube search & I found your straight to the point no nonsense video. Thankyou for sharing 👍👍👍🍻🍻🍻

Is teal oil mainly for hardwoods? How many coats should you apply? Like polyurethane you eventually put on 3 coats with light sanding in between and comes out smooth and shiny in the end but does teak do that?

Two questions, please! First, I was given a bench for the outdoors. Full sun, made of eucalyptus wood. Is what you suggest in the video - teak oil and tung oil - good for eucalyptus? Second, when I buy the liquid, how much should be tung, how much linseed, in other words, what should the ingredients be and in what proportion should they be to each other? Thank you, Furniture Clinic!

Hey I got a question for you I got some teak furniture and one of the parts had this sort of stuff that almost look like little spots of yellow paint on it but it doesn't seem to be paint. Any idea what this could be?? It's new furniture fresh from the mill. I didn't really notice it until we put some teak oil on it but the teak oil made the little yellow spots sort of pop out. I don't see any on the rest of the pieces. Thought it was paint. I tried to scratch it off but it wouldn't come off
