My rheumatologist got very dismissive of the idea I might have lupus, as I was a man, and women get lupus. She also stated my DNA DS positive result must have been a false positive (I'm a guy after all!). Yeah, I'm working on getting a new rheumatologist. I can't get better if I can't get diagnosed.

I developed SLE when I was 24. It hit me hard, throughout my joints, primarily my elbows and hands. I wasn't diagnosed until 2014, 3 years later.
I got on plaquenil, which allowed me to return to better health than ever.
I've been without meds for a year, and I've noticed my hands are definitely affected again. I have been going through so much I can't even think about a doctor rn... homelessness takes priority
