My understanding is that a tithe is a 10% contribution of income usually to a religious organization. If my income drops to zero wouldn't that mean... my contribution would be... 10% of 0=?

I never started tithing. Peter in Acts 5 didn't tell Ananias and Sapphira to tithe, and he had a good opportunity to do so.So where does one read that tithing is required after Matthew 23.
