I am from bareilly I saw Mig25 it flying and I got a chance to walk around it and touch it.

These underground bunkers in bareilly used to store normal aircrafts and helicopters in bareilly and they used to display them in a carnival every year. My mum used to visit that, it was like 3 decades ago. Heard a lot of stories about them.

There is nothing secret about it except that in the initial years NATO was caught off guard until an Israeli pilot reportedly tried to shoot down a plane over the Sinai Peninsula and the plane just out ran the missile. They were not clear about its capabilities with Pentagon exaggerating them and starting a counter program and eventually cancelled it after a soviet pilot named Victor Balenko defected to Japan with a working and latest variant of MIG 25 from Kamchatka Peninsula. The range is limited due to the two fuel inefficient Tomansky engines which were actually designed as rocket engines and it uses vaccuum tube technology and huge amount of alcohol to cool it's electronica and avionics. The camera has swath is not that great and the film in the camera has a tendency to stick mid flight.

The MiG-25 was not bought by the USSR it was literally made in the USSR and no it was not a reconnaissance aircraft it was a Mach 2.8 intercepter
