Advanced Webinar: SAR for Landcover Applications

This session will focus on the use of Google Earth Engine (GEE) to generate flood extent products using SAR images from Sentinel-1. The first third of the session will cover basic principles of radar remote sensing related to flooded vegetation. The remaining time in the session will be dedicated to a demonstration on how to use GEE to generate flood extent products with Sentinel-1.

Hello. I have noticed that in some of my layers, I get a banding effect, where the signal strength from some sentinel images is obviously much higher than the signal strength of those beside it. This is resulting in the same land surface types being much brighter in one area and much darker in other areas. I can also see it slightly in your example during this video (each sentinel image looks like a distinctive block. Does this have any effect on flood mapping? If it does, do you know how I would go about fixing this so that all images have a consistent return?
