If there is water and you cannot see the road surface DO NOT DRIVE INTO IT! Fast moving water can dig under road surfaces quickly and if you cannot see ground on either side there may be no support for the road surface. I have seen spans of almost 20 feet look structurally sound suddenly collapse under the weight of a car and be swept away. Do NOT have someone get out and wade thru the waters to see if it is safe for the car, 12 inches of flowing water can lift a car, as little as 4 inches of rapidly moving water can sweep you off your feet and with debris in the water getting hit by it will take you with it down stream. If you do get swept away, swim for the edge quickly and get out if you can. Do be aware that South of Seymour their are Dams that create dangerous water turbulence that can suck you down and keep you down long enough to end your life. Fire and Rescue are out there working hard since yesterday afternoon do not add to their work load. Stay away from the water, if you end up in the water understand Emergency Services may take longer to rescue you than you simply staying away, or doing your best to swim to shore.
