How he understood the mandarin was so cute. A lot of parents in America don't formally teach their kids their home language, so they often only speak English and understand what their parents say through listening but cant respond very well. I have a few friends like this. 😆

Given the format of this episode, the eliminations didn't really serve any purpose. They just made it awkward, which he also pointed out. You don't have to follow the "now we have to eliminate people" format in every dating video. He could have easily had conversations with both of the women he was forced to eliminate and it wouldn't have made the video that much longer.

Just to clarify - my parents can speak Cantonese Chinese, but I’ve only learned some Mandarin from school, so I am definitely not a native speaker and that’s why I have the communication skills of a 2 year old :P Hopefully I can do another video sometime! :)
