Land More Head Kicks With The CRESCENT KICK | Tutorial

The crescent kick is one of the most deceptive (and deceptively difficult) strikes in all of martial arts. Despite its weird mechanics, it is an excellent choice to land and set up powerful head strikes. In this week's tutorial, we go over the inside & outside crescent kick, as well as the axe kick and several problems regarding the use of this powerful ninja strike.

As someone who does not at current have the physical ability to practice like this *but* who loves writing fiction with realistic combat, this video was worth it's weight in gold. Keep up the good work!

Good video i seem to get most power with my inside crescent. As far as cresent kicks go. My most powerful is side. And wheel. Good video

Rob great video. I was like many I used to hate Crescent kicks. But I do love the crescent kick that ends with the axe kick. I never realized I was doing the Muay Thai Cresent. I was taught the snap cresent in Karate but I thought it was that Sensei's version of it. Luckily my inside crescent is strong. The only way I can make my outside crescent strong is with a spin. I never thought of doing a Cresent with a side kick (I will give this a try).

I only use the turning outside crescent. The inside is too weak.

1:37 hips....thigh to shin should be in a more straight line--thr knee flexion is a big needed place to work on for doing an actusl crescent kick.-Ernie Moore Jr.

I broke my opponent's nose in a Muay Thai fight with a lead leg inside Crescent kick. For most people who haven't trained in Taekwondo or karate they don't expect kicks to come from certain angles so even if it doesn't do a lot of damage it tends to put a lot of people off their game
