Another option is to keep all your money invested in your HSA earning 10% per year in SCHD or whatever. Then pay for medical expenses out of pocket. Save those receipts and then you can withdraw that money whenever you want down the road tax free. So let's say you maxed out your HSA for 20 years ($3, 600 per year at 10% per year) you would have a balance of $334, 000 (using SCHD's past performance...an estimate). You can then take out whatever amount that you have spent on medical expenses in the past 20 years tax free if you saved the receipts. You can use that money to help retire early to bridge the gap before you can dip into retirement funds like 401k, IRAs, or Social Security. Or you could buy whatever you'd like...or just keep it in there earning more interest. Pretty powerful stuff.

I use my FSA at Costco online, the FSA eligible items are noted next to the items, similar to how it is on Amazon. Only thing with Costco is there isn't a designated list of the FSA items and you aren't able to type FSA in the search engine, you would have to go through each category manually to find what items are eligible. I've purchased, Prenatal Vitamins, thermometers and heating pads. I've seen other Vitamins/supplements, Incontinence and first aid supplies that were eligible as well. Oh and the delivery was free! You can have both FSA and HSA together. Also, the expiration for FSA is not a year after, it’s 4 months for me. It varies based On Employer.
