Korea’s kimchi vs. China’s paocai: Are they the same dish?

China’s state-run newspaper Global Times recently reportedly that China’s version of pickled cabbage “paocai” has earned the approval of the International Organization for Standarization (ISO), claiming that “the kimchi industry of China” has become the world standard. However, the Korean government stressed that the ISO approval has nothing to do with kimchi, as it was given to paocai, which is a completely different dish from kimchi. The ISO document also specifically states that the standard for paocai “does not apply to kimchi.” Watch the video to learn more.

기본적으로 중국 파오차이는 뜻 자체가 야채 초절임임. 식초가 근간임. 왜냐면 땅덩이가 커서 젓갈을 쓸수 없거든 바다가 멀어서ㅎ.

I'm Japanese.There are little people who think kimch is origined from China.Kimch is Korean traditional food.Pao cai is Chinese traditional one.It's no doubt.

Italian ravioli and Chinese dumpling are both filling in boiled noodle doughs but they are freaking different because it's made differently and taste different! Same with Chinese paocai & kimchi, both pickled but MADE DIFFERENT WAYS & TASTE DIFFERENT
