Positive Vibes.. (Intrasquad Games)

OK Guys, it's time to take a look at some highlights from the Montreal Canadiens intrasquad games. I didn't get to watch the entire games, however I did manage to find some highlights! Lets have a look and see how guys like Logan Mailloux, and Alex Newhook looked!

Roy (Wawa) played 2 games in the intrasquads and he played with Monahan and Dach and I gotta say, he was looking very good out there, making plays and great passes. The best youngster out there so far in my opinion !

Can Newhook (Fellow Newfie) do a Paulie Byron on the regular. Put him on the kill to score shorties. I can see it. Just like runnin' into the bog when the partridgeberries are ripe. Just as fast as dat b'y. The Leafs fans on da rock is gonna be some jealous of the Habs.

#1 I've been hyped for Newhook since we got him, and so far i'm as happy as I was back then after seeing him play.

#2 People are sleeping so god damn hard on Slaf, I personally think this guy has the potential to even be the first liner with Caufield and Suzuki, but even if it never happens, he's going to be an essential piece on the second line.

#3 Wawa is has my vote for which rookie has the most potential to get a spot in the big leagues.

Mailloux honestly reminds me a lot of Jeff Petry during his glory days with the habs. Smooth skater that stands tall, active in the o-zone looking for plays down the right side and looking for sneaky wrist / snap shots from the point. Even the way he wraps guys up along the boards in the defensive end reminds me of petry. Interested to see what the future holds...

Also, holy fuck does Newhook look even better than expected. suzuki and dach already quite good at entering the offensive zone off the rush. Maybe something they can build around as a team?

As an Avs fan, I'll tell ya; 'Hook is an interesting guy. He'll make for an undersized, under numbers 2C, or a better than usual counting stats 3C except his defense has more holes than the alibis at the Catholic Church.
All told, he's a tweener that at best should be counted on to hold down the fort until your next generation 2C comes along....
