How to write 80's Funk & Boogie music.

In this video I condense down all the elements needed to write 80's funk and boogie music. From the music theory behind it, cultural influences, drums, bass, chords, leads, and more!

I'm using FL Studio, however any workstation will do. So if you use Ableton, Reason, Logic, Studio One, and so on there will be no issues following along.

I wouldn't mind you doing a super long video one day especially in genres like these. 80s Synth funk just has so much depth and feel to me, and is so easy to update and experiment with today.

Lol how does this chick not have more subs. Literally one of the only female producers on YT I've come across to date aside from BadSnacks

This was amazing! As producer looking to get into making funk, this breakdown into detail was so welcome, and as amazing as funk and disco is, it's so rare to find good stuff on the internet about it. Thanks for making it!

I really like how you play a clip of the song you're working on before even getting to the discussion. It's nice to have that idea of what you're working towards with each element discussed, going forward.

I’ve played in bands during this era as a teen and you’re authentic in your production and choice of synths and drums. Great job! 👍

This is some A-list stuff here. This is the sort of complete tutorial for this style I've been looking for, something in the style of Dabeull. You fucking rock! The song in the background puts the stank right on my face.

Love how you explain music theory in such an approachable way. And the staccatissimo too of course.

Coldest funk tutorial in the game. These other videos just don't do it like this. The song hits and the quick but insightful/helpful explanations make it cake to follow along. Thank you, keep making more of these!!

Wow I cant believe I found this gem of a channel. Been looking for some really in depth, intuitive explanations as to ‘why’ these songs sound the way they do rather than an endless trove of “here’s a beat I made in an hour that kind of falls into *insert genre*” This song wasn’t made, it was COMPOSED. Much respect to your craft.

I really dig this kind of content. The content, audio/video quality, and editing are clear and to the point and I really appreciate the lack of clickbaity/youtuber-crap and the sincerity of it all.

I'd love content that goes more in depth to the music theroy or producing side of it, and I'm also interested in your take on DnB, though this is also great.

Random comment for the algorhythm. One of the best tutorial channels i've come across. Keep it up!
