1816 The year without a summer - Global Catastrophe

The year 1816 AD is known as the Year Without a Summer because of severe climate abnormalities that caused average global temperatures to decrease. Summer temperatures were the coldest of any on record , resulting in crop failures and major food shortages across the Northern Hemisphere. It also inspired Frankenstein and Dracula to be born.

I have never wished summer away, but I love fall. According to our weatherman in Kentucky, we are going to have an early fall. My goodness! Snow in June and July!!! We just may see something similar in this nation like 1816, however, not from snow, but the economy. I thought that I would mention a lady came by my booth at the Farmer's Market today. She is a direct descendant of Randall McCoy's sister. His sister was her grandmother. We had quite a conversation. I asked her about Blackberry and she said, "Blackberry Hoiller." I am a summer ☀️ person. After going through chemotherapy treatment the second time, I have a tendency to get sick in the winter and early spring, when it is sometimes very rainy 🌧 here in Oregon. Thank you very much Leo and Heather, for a very informative video. Have a great day. 😊

I can tell you one thing when Mount Saint Helens erupted it was cold afterwards will not like that but it was cooler the gardens didn't go very good and weather had changed then until after it all dissipated thanks Leo for sharing that was interesting

Thats a great lesson! I tell people all the time to be careful what you wish for. I just got back from visiting my people on elk creek. It was 100 degress when we left (the hottest day in 12 years according to the williamson weatherman) and when i got home it was 68 degrees and its been raining for days. A few weeks ago we had 28 tornados in 3 DAYS and we dont have tornados here!
