The United States tourism industry has had a complicated and uneven handful of years. With New York posting record profits while it's visitor numbers acturally decline, when the state of Florida is breaking it's own records for rising migration and tourism at the same time. But for all the winners or this growing American tourism market, there are states seeing very little in the way of new visitors or visitor spending. Todays video looks at the four U.S. states that see the least visitors of all fifty states- and you might find the four U.S. states nobody cares to visit outright surprising.

Alaska and Montana really less visited than states like North Dakota or Nebraska?

Let’s look at the great basin states in the upper great basin Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and I want extended to Washington state and Oregon

First of all, you have to have infrastructure in this case, major cities with air ports that are popular the only place that fits that bill in the states is Seattle and Washington state

Secondly, tourist Infrastructure and business Tourist support

Yellowstone National Park in the northwest corner of Wyoming is a major draw her international Taurus

Tourist that comes to Seattle pretty much stay in around Seattle and maybe go to the Olympic peninsula they won’t go further east

At one time In the recent past Portland Oregon tourism Had a recent spade of international tourist coming from Asia, but not anymore after Covid, and after the quality of life and tourism infrastructure degraded

Let’s take the interior parts of the US Missouri and Idaho appeal to US citizens and residence as opposed to international visitors coming as tourist. And also people prefer sunshine and warmth so similar kinds of great basin areas, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico would probably attract people more, especially people on overseas trips in motorcycles and snowbirds coming from Arizona and south eastern California

The plain states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma really only attract American tourist from certain parts of the US not from the East Coast or the West Coast particularly unless there’s some kind of local activity like maybe Sturgis South Dakota for people who are into the outlaw motorcycle culture cirque States like Missouri and Arkansas and Oklahoma definitely only attract Americans who are very provincial types with an identity toward Americanism essentially Scott Irish ethnic background

I know, even the indigenous people who have nations and land in Oklahoma, have a tendency to push away people descend it from them because of their non-inclusive and non-willingness to have outreach, except for people who are reg members of the tribe I know this secondhand experiences of people Out to these tribes

Let’s take Alaska

This is a very expensive state to get to from the lower 48 And Canada, which does have the Canadian Alaskan highway is a separate country and is very critical and looks for certain things like firearms and will not allow them to transit through Canada anymore. They used to put them in lock, diplomatic bag, telling the person that they arrive at the American border in Alaska within a certain time. They no longer Tolerance And will accommodate American travelers with firearms. This leaves taking a ferry from Seattle to Anchorage with your vehicle in this case would be a SUV or live living trailer that can be very expensive and for people who want to deal with the great outdoors.
