I love how the anime gave Uryu a Vollstandig, it looks like the Quincy version of Byakuya's Senbonzakura Kageyoshi

I think when uryu said that he cannot forgive who the one that let it happened. That mean he hate Yhwach.

Nah the reason is the same... He just agree with Yhawch that he was right for hating soul reapers but deep down he just wanna double cross em.. and we keep seeing Hashwalth eyeing on Ishida in every fight agaist Ichigo.. bro think ishida sus

Dude, Uryu’s goal is still the same. They showed the still silver briefly an episode or two ago with uryu’s dad. I doubt that Uryu isn’t going to do what he did in the manga. They’re just giving Uryu more screen time currently which is amazing, but they aren’t going to change his motivation.

I saw it as Uryu saying that "The confined Quincy king waited for the time he knew would come." To mean Yhwach knew the Quincy's would be slaughtered. As the Quincy's were always the ones to die, Uryu cannot forgive Yhwach for allowing it to happen.

All his life Uryu thought he was the only Quincy besides his father who was distant. When he finally met other Quincy he must’ve been utterly disappointed. The look on his face when Haschwalth mercilessly slayed his own subordinates tells the whole story.
The sternritters are against everything his grandfather taught him. As much of a shame is that Uryu never really interacted with the sternritters.
As much as the anime improves on his power curve. Uryu’s opinions, feelings and stance is still somewhat neglected.

His contribution to the war is never really mentioned or acknowledged.

In CFYOW, it feels like he never existed.

Uryuu almost textually says that he is not letting Yhwach get away with killing his mother. There's a fucking reason Yhwach also has that conversation with Ichigo. The reason didn't change, it's his usual spiel with a few extra lines.

Uryu is still playing double agent, and Jugram doesn't trust him, but the anime is expanding and highlighting better his role, making more believable his supposed betrayal.

You need to read what Uryu says more carefully. He hates Yhwach for abandoning the quincies and taking away his mother.

Really? To me it can't be more obvious the exact same plot is going on. Uryuu is still just trying to play the gin game by saying he hates soul reapers.

Unrelated but i laughed out loud watching Chad and the others try to fight the royal guard this episode

What no. He's ACTING to keep earning his trust. They just made it more convincing then him just shooting a couple arrows half butted at him.

They’ve more than made up for how rushed the manga was already. Way better story telling, animation is top tier, also giving context to Uryu’s personality change made so much more sense after this episode and showing his research of the history of Quincies during the first season.

Uryu said " I cannot forgive the one who took everything from me" that would be Yhwach, he killed his mother. I'm sure he doesn't mind that shinigamis are collateral in this war, though! Also, the fact that he is voiced by the same actor as Sasuke is quite on point.

This is absolutely wrong. Uryu still has the same motivation he did in the manga, but now has more scenes to sell his turn for ywatch.

The end of episode 30 is effectively the same thing that happened in the manga with uryu shooting Ichigo down to the lower platform knowing full well that arrow wasn't going to kill Ichigo. In addition, he was never trying to actually kill anyone as even yoruichi was shot in the arm as opposed to a headshot or a hole through her.

This is why haschwalth is looking at uryu throughout the episode as he knows uryu isn't actually trying to kill his friends but rather intentionally keep them alive.

I usually agree with this guy’s content, but I foresee this theory being incorrect. Even in the manga, Uryu still functioned as a double agent with his end goal being avenging his mother. Despite the added scenes and dialogue, I don’t foresee the end result changing.

Orrr he just said that so that his betrayal of Ichigo was more believable? Both for the characters and anime onlys, people who don't know what's gonna happen...

Uryu told Ichigo that _«I will not let you stop Yhwach»_ which is alligning with Uryu’s goal of being the one to revenge his clan by being the one to kill the King of Quincies himself. Being a self-intrest-motivated double agent for Yhwach forces him to build trust with the Quincies first, to get close to Yhwach, to then find a way to backstab him etc.
This is briefly memtioned in the manga, but I hope we get a good explaination of it in the TYBW anime at least

Uryu stated that he hated soul reapers because of what happened to his grandfather but after Menos Grande retreated and Ichigos reitasu wetn out of control Uryu tired to stabilize it and the we learned the TRUTH. Uryu did not hate soul reapers he hated his own weakness that wouldn't let him help his grandpa even when he was being attacked and he took his anger out on the Soul Reapers because that was easier for him the blame the Soul Reapers than himself
