Sorry if progressive finds out your using it on turo they will drop you. Ride sharing is different than turo.

Hi Chris, I have Progressive as well. As it was told to me, Rideshare is when you drive people around in your car. Turo is CARSHARE.... I've been on Turo 3 years, and use Progressive for my personal cars.

When I started, I had them on Progressive, but one day I just happened to call them to ask about setting up another vehicle. I casually mentioned that I'm using the for Turo, so I'll select "Ride Share"... the rep told me that we are NOT allowed to use the car for Turo. Her words were "it is not tolerated"... she said if we found out that you were renting out your car, we'd cancel your entire policy... not just the car being used.

Isn't that supposed to be Car share rather than rideshare?
RideShare- lyft, uber, .... taxi
Carshare- private rentals

I asked the Progressive agent why they didn't cover Turo - she told me this: "When we agreed to insure you, we gave you a rate based on your level of risk, which was based on factors about your history -- having said that, when you hand the keys to another driver, we have no idea who that other driver is... he could have 3 DUI's or other factors that would either make him uninsurable or have a high risk level - so if he gets into an accident in your car, we wouldn't want to pay that claim based on what we quoted you..."

I have to agree with the other comments, rideshare is not the same as Turo. This is bad advice. Period X, Tint, or commercial insurance.
