I feel like this advice contradicts previous advice from Steve. We were told if a guy doesn’t want to get married, then you should leave and not stick around. How do you know you’re waiting for a good man and how do you know you’re being dragged along? It’s hard to differentiate each circumstance uniquely.

This story really hits home for me. I think that as a women you are pressured to get the ring so much, that you don’t think about what happens afterward. If you notice in the video, she said she had to grow as an individual too. It was not just him that had grow in this situation. So, for them not to get married, they are now able to grow as individuals and work towards their future together.

I have been dating my boyfriend for 12 years now. He is my best friend and the love of my life. Don’t get me wrong, I do want to be engaged down the road, but I rather be financially set first then rushing into it, just to get the ring.

Now...how long is she willing to "wait" until he gets himself together?...Does she secretly have an ultimatum she is going to unleash on him. I know she wants to support him and be patient with him but this is his last chance to redeem himself. I can see she knows *exactly* what she wants and how she wants it. She seems sweet and nice now, but if he cannot get himself together in a reasonable amount of time she will be gone! (I have been there before).
