In mastectomy or surgeries to remove the uterus/ovaries for cancer reasons women are given the choice of removing both breasts or both ovaries and uterus as a preventative measure. If this child wasn't trans removing both testes as a preventative measure would be a discussion between the parents, child, and doctors about if this is the right move for the child and no one would bat an eyelash about them removing both.

The thing is, removing both testicles could be seen as preventative care to prevent the other testicle from potentially becoming cancerous. They do it with mastectomy when there is a risk of breast cancer returning.
