Hurricane Francine approaches our Home at almost a direct hit and we are heading to a better area for us and the kid. Most my comic collection will be left at home but I am able to bring a few boxes. Hoping for one of two scenarios. 1. The storm travels through and harms nothing. 2. The storm gently enters your home leaving behind no damage, blows all of your comics with care and delicacy all the way here to my home in Washington state.

Grab some heavey duty garbage bags if you can and wrap the boxes you're leaving. I grew up in Florida and left in 1994 and during that entire time--27 years--I remember precisely two actual hurricane events (SE Flordia) way back in the early '80s. It's positively crazy how frenetic the weather's become. Best of luck to you and your family and to all the residents who will inevitably be impacted by the coming storm.I really hope it moves through swiftly. Those lingering wet storms are, I think, where the worst happens. Stay well and take good care. Just in the event that y'all get completely deluged and looting starts up may I have your address?

I'm a Floridian, so I know what you are going through right now. My recommendation: if you have plastic bins with lids, put your most valuable items in them, then duct tape the lids onto the bins. No guarantees, but it could save some valuable items

Hang in there my guy. I'm in Gulfport, not too far in from the water. I have some things on the ready just in case. I have the majority of my comics stored in those BCW Black plastic boxes. I may throw some of my favorites in one and have it on standby.

I can't imagine what it feels like walking out of your comic room for the last time hoping it's all good when you get back. I got some feels just watching you show it right before you left. I hope you avoid damage and come home to zero problems my dude.

Didn't know you lived in Louisiana. I live on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Hurricane Ivan in 2004 ripped part of my roof off. Luckily, that section of my house did not contain my comic collection. Stay safe!
