How to Change a Cat 3126, C9, or C7 Injector

I DO LOVE HOW YOU SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE WITH SUCH EXPERTISE AND PASSION !!!
I got an ‘01 Pete 330 with an 8YL 3126, half a million miles. Its a hobby/ RV truck. I only drive it a few thousand miles a year. LOST POWER, SMOKING so
I had a shop confirmed a #5 injector is bad. I watched your video and took notes. I used to overhaul my 3406s so I felt confident and excited to go and change the injector.
Came out ok. I evacuated oil n fuel lubed new unit… as I should.
DID NOT WANNA SEAT PROPERLY…
Used index pry-bar to push it down.
It ran good for 3 min with valve cover off than I saw oil splashing out. I also think fuel went in oil too as dipstick indicated that.
Have to pull it out n get new o ring kit I think, I DAMAGED O RINGS OR JUST DID NOT SEAT IT PROPERLY.
What did I possibly do wrong?

Best in-depth explanation I have seen. Only one I found that actually shows evacuation of the cylinders. Not to mention all the videos that show using a mallet on the injector to seat it. Makes me cringe when I see it.
Great video hope others find this one before all the bad information out there.

Hello adept, I want to thank so much for your help yesterday. I did exactly what you told me to and I was able to take out the broken screw that hold the injector in place. I really appreciate that, I would highly recommend you to anybody, you're the best diesel mechanic in the US so far that I know no question asked. I when to cat and i bought the 2 screws and the plug to conect the injector it was broken that was the miss i was having. Thanks to you my friend now my truck is up and running. Where are you located? Im in Miami, Fl You deserve a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label.

found the issue with the fuel leak the head has multiple out let ports for gauges or what ever you want to put in there and one of the plugs O-ring was bad so just replaced O-ring no more leaks and no removing the valve cover. Thanks for your help keep up the good work....

Do the injectors on a 3126b have to have trim files loaded for replacemt? I got in a hurry and pulled all the injectors without marking them. Iv got Cat et so I'm assuming that I can just hook up and see which injector goes where? Thanks

I have a 3126 with high oil consumption with no smoke or evidence of high blow by. Found evidence of oil in fuel I suspect the reman injector installed about a year ago how common is a crack in the head between the fuel and oil galley? Engine got about 228, 000 on it and Thanks for theses videos.

I have 3126 that is consuming oil. No leaks. I believe oil is mixing with the fuel thru the injectors. Have you heard or experienced oil consumption thru the injectors. Thanks.

Great video. What should I look for user the valve cover while cranking to verify that there is a high pressure leak? Should any oil be coming from the injectors at all? Thanks for your info. God Bless!

In case of a faulty injector, im pretty sure its okay if i only change the faulty injectors and not all the injectors like dealers recommend, dont you think?

And do recommend reman or brand new injectors?

Hey man thanks for what you do. I did a head gasket now the Engine is running Inconsistent air in fuel low fuel pressure? Also are the injectors supposed to shoot oil out and how much oil should I be getting to rocker arms?

These injectors look an awful lot like those on a 7.3 power stroke. Are they the same by chance?

4:10...do some cylinder heads have a drain plug to prevent fuel and oil from going into the cylinder when removing injectors?

Nice work keep it going I am wonder if u know the voltage and resistance on these 3126 injectors I got 2.8 ohms the connector over heats and the connector got stuck in the internet coil

the trim codes are only for when the engine is at idle, (smog reasons) once you step on the accelerator it throws the cal, trim codes out the window.
