For anyone who is getting the Press any key to continue... and the command prompt window closes, I fixed it by downloading the right JDK (Java Development Kit). For me version 21 worked for Minecraft 1.20.1, but I know it can vary with earlier versions.

im 35 setting up for my 6yr old. im not the sharpest tool when it comes to pc's, but im learning and want to have a go at this.
were on bedrock edition 1.17.1.
Before i start and end up taking 5 days to fail, is this only for java and pre 1.17?
