Do you also come up with excuses as an easy way out? Do you always stay in your comfort-zone? Do you want to become a better artist?
In this video I talk about why you should immediately stop making excuses, why it is hurting you and how to become authentic.
We all have our own dreams and goals and it's time that we focus on them and step up our inner game. It's not always easy but definitely worth it.
If you liked the video then please give it a thumbs up and leave a comment with your thoughts!
Thanks so much :)

This is really helpfull! I used to have this two issues as an artist.
1. I'm a perfeccionist, I didn't like any of my work, so I was afraid of spending time at drawing cuz I got so disappointed everytime I finished something. And I just avoided working on my art, cuz I didn't wanted to have that feeling.
2. When I was In college I created some fame, everyone of my teachers and classmates thought that I was gifted, they expected soo much from me, and that was so freaking scary, cuz I didn't wanted to let them down, so I used to keep my art to myself, so people won't be disappointed of me
Now, I'm working on my fears, u know, I'm working on my art and I'm sharing it, even when I get so anxious about it. Now I'm trying to think 'This is me, I'm not the best but I'm working on that'

LMAO During the "Trying and failing is better than not trying at all" part, YouTube played an anti-drug ad that started with "I tried oxycontin at a party. I didn't know it would be this addictive."

This was a great video but that really caught me off guard lol

I recently "discovered" a bad habit of me which developed from watching a lot of speed-up paintings: I rush way to much on my own drawings (it's a very stupid thing to compare yourself with others) because I think (even though I KNOW that's it's not like that) I have to finish my drawing/painting within a few minutes. Sometimes my mind is really a jerk. :(

PS: Stumbled randomly over your video and instantly got you a new follower. Thanks for sharing your videos! :)

this is just what I needed. I’ve been avoiding drawing because I’m kind of a perfectionist. I really need to welcome discomfort instead of avoiding it.

This is super helpful and something to keep in mind. I'm such a perfectionist to the point that even doing studies to LEARN how to do something sets off my fight or flight response. I end up avoiding whatever it is and then feel guilty later. It's like I have this little 'demon' over my shoulder telling me "oh you're going to fail so why try."
I know attempting and failing will benefit me, but instead I find other random things more interesting or I start nitpicking the study (for an arm rather than drawing muscles from reference, I'll open a science anatomy book and read about the bones and then the mechanics and then after what feels like eons maybe start the muscle drawing...) It's the worst feeling, but I'm going to just sit down and do it

I was definitely feeling like my art was really lacking, but it was because I was trying to imitate other artists too much, so I was never happy or satisfied. But when I started to just draw how I wanted to I actually enjoyed it more and made more drawings I was proud of.

Wise words! I agree 100 percent. Being uncomfortable is the gateway to upgrading.

I so relate to this. It's all fear. Life is all about overcoming fear, and I think Art highlights this so much. I have so many ideas for videos, but like you say, its too easy to find excuses, but whenever I look into any excuse... it always leads back to fear.

So hard to face your fears, yet at the same time, if you really think about it... it's so easy, because all you have to do, is do it. Paradox. I don't think this will ever go away either, because if you're going after a goal, there will always be something on the horizon that is a fear.

Art = the process of becoming fearless :)

I know in one of your videos, you discussed how it's a bit awkward for you to sit in front of a mic and record the videos you make, but I do want to thank you for taking the time to give us all a pep talk. Honestly you have no idea how much your videos help. I am literally taking notes, you have no idea how great you are 😂😂

Every single thing you said here is absolutely true. I know from experience! Thank you for sharing this to others. To add to your point, getting out of your comfort zone at least once a day will build so much confidence as well. It's really amazing.

Great advice. Applies to music and other things in life besides art as well. Thanks for sharing! Beautiful drawing too.

Oh wow. I lost all my friends and connections due to being a shut in and practicing art with almost no rest as well. I very rarely post it anywhere. Hell, I don't even comment on Youtube or Reddit because I know I will probably be ashamed of my thoughts later or because I think it is irrelevant. Thank you for making this video, it hit close to home and look, I will even post a comment, how badass is that! I may even post some of my works somewhere.. someday :')

I absolutely love this video. I come up with a ton of excuses every day. More so now then ever. I have been an artist all my life and now I just feel like I am spinning my wheels. Every year I feel like I am starting over. Yes I have learned a lot but not enough to propel me forward. I feel like I am putting more time into trying to sell my art then I am creating art and doing what I love. Because I am not selling my art my confidence is shattered. But I really liked what you said if I measured my success off the little daily goals that I set for myself I believe that I would be happier. Thank you so much for making this video. It was exactly what I needed. I feel much better now. Thank you.
