If you divide your hair into a few sections and apply serum/oil to each section, the product is more evenly distributed. Otherwise it’s mostly just getting on the very top layer of your hair and the underneath. My hair isn’t as thick as yours, so I put my hair in a half ponytail, then apply oil/leave in conditioner to that bottom section. After that I do the top half and it’s more evenly applied
