Thanks so much, Jenna. I bet some English teachers out there *look up to* you because of your outstanding work. I think with this excellent series, we’ll eventually *pick up on* phrasal verbs. 🙂

One simple question about the second particle in “make up for”. You make up FOR something, but you make it up TO someone, right? Can I *get away with* using “make it up for someone” when talking about people, or is it completely wrong?

Thank you for this helpful video, honestly this is the first time I understand why we have to use the ing form of the verb after "look forward to", for many years I watched many videos and red a lot about this expression and they all say you have to use the gerund after "to", the problem is - as well as for many English learners I guess - I always thought that "to" is the particle that precedes the infinitive form of a verb for example "to eat" but in this expression "look forward to" "to" is a preposition which must be followed by a noun as you explained, it is clear now ! I have a question though, in the example "to eat" how is the particle "to" called, is it called preposition too or something else. Thank you.

Hello man here are my sentences ...


Get it over = not getting over your fear can make fell hard to be in dark .
Come up = is coming up with new idea in business good ?( u might say to your colleague .)
Get away with it = getting away with procrastination can be helpful .( you might say to your friend).
Look forward to = not looking forward to achieving something might make u fell reckless .( you might say to your friend)
Get around to =getting around to your old friends you might get a memorable time .
Put up with =can't putting up with neighbourhood are quite common here .
Take it out = is taking out on close friend
Common cuz often I do it for no reason 😄
Cut down on = cutting down on unhealthy meal is a good start of getting fit .
