Enable PS2 Slim With Out Power Button PCB

How to enable PS2 Slim with out
"power_switch_pcb_board"

PS2 gamers is big community and I hope it will be usefull.
You can test your PS2 with this method or even left/mod it if you not want to buy new part

My old friend came to me and ask:
can I test console - is it worked or not?
it was completely disassembled by part's
with out shell
and with a torn out cooler connector and With Out "Power Button PCB"
I not found any tutorial about it in internet:
How to enable PS2 Slim with out

I found only tutorials about :
"How To Power Up a Playstation2
Without POWER Button" - but it is with
"POWER SWITCH BOARD PS2"
- what I not have in may case

I have found solution and it pretty simple.

Also you can reboot your PS2 from OPL by preesing:
L1+L2+R1+R2+Start+Select
And you can set OPL to start automaticly on console launch by using FMCB configurator

I have a different revision PS2 Slim...so I'm assuming I can bridge pins 1 and 3 of the power switch connector on the motherboard to power the console on?

Thanks, try it later 😅 my ps2 had same problem, i even unplugged the white port for the flexible so i can jumper each cable to the switch but still no light (sometimes its has it but low light)

And finally i buy new one 😂😂

This is wrong, you connected button and red light. If red light is off then your guide won't work.

The pinout is:
1 red led
2 3.3v
3 ir signal
4 ground
5 button
6 open detect
7 green led
8 8.5v

The correct way is connection button and ground

so i have a little tool that allows me to turn on pc power supplies without having a motherboard connected, and i used that lil tool (it's a lil cable) to turn on the ps2, and i can say, it worked! that ps2 was abandoned for over 5 years now, and i changed thermal pads to some arctic ones i got for a gpu, and im going to try it out, im going to reply to this comment very soon

Hey Napisal, what about the door sensor that is usually on that missing PCB ?? You can activate power, but making laser and spindle search disc wont occur if it thinks Door is open, , , any thoughts 🤔

i think my PS2 SCPH 70004 is dead
i shorted all fuses that were infinite ohm (blown) (F0001, PS1, PS15)
but when i connect PSU, that IC near power button PCB and polymer capacitors near 8.5V connector are slightly warm

Hello i have a problem with my ps2 i broke it but i dont know what is wrong with it. I was working on it to replace the housing and wanted to pull the disctray out while the console was on and the motor of the disctray was pulling in the other direction to close the disctray. And the console made a sparking sound and doesnt do nothing anymore. If i touch the power supply i get a schock so the power supply does still work so i thought. But i ordered a replacement anyway. With the replacement power supply my console makes a noise when i turn it on but still does not work and the fan does not work and the blue and green/res power lights do not work either. What could be the problem. Thanks im advamce for any help.
