most cars are responding that way to absorve crash energy, my neighbour impacted a small brasilian chevrolet chevette with his audi a4. The audi ended up in pieces but he survived and the 73 chevette didnt had a scratch but the driver ended up in a coma. here in chile geely are a 6000 units sold success.

@madhatter0110 The VAT is applied to ALL goods (and services), irrespective of origin. Thus it does not stifle any specific goods from any specific place. Works the same in all EU countries, altough the VAT varies.

i think you mean absorb crash energy. i understand what you are saying, crumple zones and all that but cars should be equal strength, otherwise when a stronger 1 hits the weaker 1 ''geely'' then the geelys cabin is crushed and then nasty thing happen. all cars should be equal. safer i think

@madhatter0110 This commenting system is infuriating, why can't we have an edit button? It should say that the Mercedes weighs 300kg more of course. It's got more power power and torque than a Prius too, despite costing almost the same amount of money.

@madhatter0110 You are correct of course, the Prius is an innovation, albeit a rather modest one. It is after all just a car with a bunch of batteries. And it doesnt get great fuel mileage, ~5-6l/100km, modern diesel cars these days (MB C220 CDI BE for example) do below 5l/100km (despite the MB weighing 300kg). The Honda FCX, now there's an innovation.
I already mentioned that the chinese needs original design, i.e. what HyundaiKIA have already achieved, along with increased safety.
