Skyrim for me is great because I get to make my own story and my own character, and I can choose more freely how I want them to be: from a human, to werewolf, vampire, master smith, Dragonborn, etc. decent writing, decent story, etc.

Witcher 3, I am unfortunately bound only to Geralt for 90% of the game, but despite that there is some creativity in how you act towards others as Geralt. As for the story, writing, and quests go? Absolutely phenomenal.

I love the games for different reasons. I honestly could not pick one over the other.

Side quests a tie? No bro, there's a side quest in the witcher 3 where you go to a little Island and in that island there's a lighthouse haunted by a ghost of a woman who mourns and roams the island cursing everyone nearby because she was cheated on, you get a choice to either bring her the man who cheated a d save the island or defeat her but get everyone who was ever cursed by her killed, including the son of the man who cheated, that side quest alone is better than any and every side quest in skyrim

The Witcher 3 makes me feel like I'm playing a movie, I have to be Geralt, interaction in the world is limited, you can't pick up any object, get married, own multiple houses, have friends/followers. The game is focused on the story and side quests, the game also lacks 1st person making it less immersive in that regard. The gameplay/graphics/story are all fantastic though, yet I still would pick TES. In Skyrim you are who you choose to be, you can be good/evil, a mage, a thief, a warrior whatever you please with complete freedom to interact and explore this strange fantasy land. The lore is absolutely fascinating and mysterious, there are countless stories and secrets, there are so many different factions and guilds to join, there are demons that seduce mortals with artifacts of great power, there are so many things to do you will never get bored of replaying it. Doesn't get better than Skyrim, but that's my opinion.

Skyrim might have lost. But in the end it is still the better game. It's one of my best memories. It was game breaking back then. Witcher 3 was alright but just doesn't hold up to Skyrim.

Skyrim has much more that you can do in it. Waaay much more freedom. You can't even kill just anybody in Witcher. You can't even pickpocket. Plus Skyrim has way more things to pick up/steal throughout the entire game. Skyrim also has much more customization, and I love the ability tree perks. It also has much better music. A lot more side quests, and sooo much more magic, and different weapons, and the ability to craft your weapons, and enchant them, etc. Plus I absolutely HATE that ps4 doesn't allow first person in the Witcher. The only thing better about the Witcher, is the story line, the graphics, and the fighting is very smoothe.
