I value your videos a lot. - My concern with the 3 phase model is that it is focussed on repair of individual. The society around us is violent, abusive, systemically dysfunctional. Society is predicated on one group being permitted to profit from another groups exposure to hazard. Most forms of employment are based on exploiting others exposure to risk for profit. Stabilization and coping skills is rarely framed in the context of acknowledging the toxicity of our entire global social structure. it rarely acknowledges my revovery and stabalization may involve social structures abusing my self and others just to feed and house myself. i think therapy needs to be acknowledging systemic failure of society as context throughout therapy process, and therapy needs to be also aimed at changing society and its governance systems. otherwise we are just making people more resilient to contibue functioning in the dysfunctional ways society pressures us.

I’m in my final year of level 4 BACP counselling and studying in trauma also. You’re video is very informative and I like the 3 model approach. I’ve subscribed to your channel.
I’d be interested to hear how you slow down the client in wanting to jump into the trauma process before doing stage 1. Im going to back track to stage 1 and sit with this for sometime to ensure safety and skills are securely in place as this is the foundation to protecting our clients from re-traumatising themselves. 👍

You don't need to go into the trauma to release the trauma. It's hard and difficult both for the client and the practitioner. Trauma release can be done easily and without traumatizing our clients.
