The Honda NC750X. My first time riding NC750X. A smooth, precise, well made bike that true to Honda, does exactly what it says on the tin.

I bought my NC for my retirement present, added taller screen, scottoiler and hard luggage, now I am going touring. It’s the only bike I have bought with my head not my heart, and it has grown on me. I love it

The more you ride this bike the more you like it and appreciate it. It’s that simple. Took me 5k miles to get used to mine but now I wouldn’t trade it for anything else! Does everything well, I get over 80mpg from mine, utterly reliable, the frunk is great. Doesn’t do 150mph but personally I don’t want to….

The bike was designed as a commuter and does it perfectly
Great reliability, superb mileage and the false tank is so practical
Many riders all over the world have put hundreds of thousands on miles on these
When l was a bike instructor we had one in our fleet..superb motorcycle for real world riding
Stay safe.. keep the videos coming.

Living in NYC, this is a great bike. I don't have to worry about shifting and can focus on avoiding the many distractions (taxis, pedestrians, bicycles, scooters, etc.) Plus, keeping my helmet in the storage space keeps me from carrying it around all day. I don't care who likes it or not, this is a perfect city commuter (which is what I need). I don't miss traditional shifting at all.

People who hate the NC750X haven’t spent enough time riding one or are only weekend warriors who do a few poseur cafe rides on sunny Sundays.

As a bike to absolutely do the job all the time with no dramas it’s very hard to beat. If you want to thrash it you can! Sports bikes can’t keep up with me commuting through London and definitely are no good for a weekend away camping with my lady!

I have the 2023 DCT version……after 42 years of not riding…..love it, does what I want and more….and it’s my bike, my choice and I love it, simple as that…I’ll love all bikes and each to their own, we are all brothers and sisters here…let’s just enjoy and stay safe and hope that we can all ride the roads for a good while yet…

Funny you should mention "winter bike" as that's exactly why I bought my NC750 (S version) so that I didn't have to take my recently purchased new Triumph Street Twin out in the rain. Within a week or so the Triumph sat in the workshop virtually unused.
My real world experience could be summed up as...
Going to work... Honda.
Going shopping... Honda
Sunday round the lanes... Honda
Longer ride... Honda
Bike meet... Triumph.
Sad reflection on my personality perhaps but just what I found myself doing.
That engine is a work of genius. Loads of useable low down torque and gives amazing fuel economy. As mentioned the practicality of the "frunk" meaning you don't have to carry you helmet around the shops and can pick up a bit of shopping is something you may not think is much of a deal until you ride the bike in real world situations for a while.
Also. The bike may not be a sports bike but it's no slouch either. It easily tops the ton and then some.
But... And isn't there always a but. I found my S version didn't handle particularly well and I didn't have the confidence, especially in cornering, that I do on other bikes. Ultimately, that kinda' killed it for me which was a shame. (The X version may well be better for all I know).
Another pro or maybe con, is that nobody takes any notice of you, be that the police or pretty anyone at your local bike meet. You are completely inconspicuous. (apart from to other NC owners of course).
In conclusion. Although I'd say it isn't "boring", neither is it "exciting" in the way the (cheaper) Honda Hornet is.
Realistically it's pretty much everything you could need.
Maybe it just depends on how "naughty" you want to be compared to "sensible".
At least Honda give you the choice as both are great bikes.

Thanks for the review TAME, I am just back to motorcycling after many years away and bought an NC750X. Brilliant bike and helping me build my confidence. Anything on the naughty boy range may well have got me into trouble in all sorts of ways. Keep up the great channel.

Bought mine new, 18 months ago, after a lay off of nearly 18 years. Looked for bike with a new biker mindset. I absolutely love it. It might not be the most powerful, but bags of torque means it go off the line like stink. Had a Thundercat b4 and that bike and this are easily the most comfortable and easiest to ride. You can be boring on it, but you can have bags of fun as well.

Very underrated, capable motorcycle. If it was shaft drive, it would be almost perfect.

If it has 2 wheels and improves the mood, any bike will do, reminds me of my NTV650 which was my all year round commuter bike, functional and bullet proof. (14 years of reliable transport)

Perfect home servicing enthusiasts bike too. Canted engine gives you access to the head (after a simple radiator removal) for access to the screw & locknut valve clearance adjustment.

Since buying my NC750X new in 2014 with the Adventure Pack fitted I have also bought and sold a BMW R1250GS and a Royal Enfield Himalayan, but the NC750X is a keeper. It is just too good to sell even though I have recently also bought a BSA Gold Star Legacy.

A bike that has I've never really thought about, the new Deauville I suppose, taking its place as an ultra sensible all round
middleweight commuter / tourer bike.. People hated that too but it was a brilliant bike for what it was designed for.

Arthritis means I had to get the DCT version of this and to be honest I cannot see anything else that would replace it. Tours, scratches - absolute hoot. Put a Fuel exhaust on mine and modded the screen with Palmer brackets. Front suspension is not so good so mine is going to MCT for some tender care this month. Ride it in User defined mode so it changes gear how I want it to and does really nice blips when it is downshifting. It also turns in 70+mpg no matter how I ride it.

I've had two NC's - both where the now discontinued "S" model which had a lower seat height. My first was a DCT, the second was a manual. Excellent bikes and very underrated. Relatively low revving (the engine was derived from the Honda Jaz).
Very economical and well built. The forward-canted cylinders gave it a low C of G and it handled really well. My 2014 model was a bit harsh on suspension but they've improved year-on-year. The latest version of the X has a 30mm lower seat, perfect for us shorties. Showa non-adjustable forks with "Dual Bending Valve" cartridge which is an improvement over the older version.
The horn position takes a bit of getting used to. I've "indicated" my displeasure to poor driving a number of times and conversely, "sounded" my intention to turn quite a bit 😂🤣

I owned one for a couple of years. Once you change the seat and the screen it becomes a comfortable, practical commuter or tourer for all year biking. Frunk is so useful and it's okay with a pillion. As an everyday bike they are hard to beat but it never excited me like my T100 does.

Had a shortish ride on my mates NC last year. Gotta say it completely changed my view on the bike. My biggest dislike was its engine, a twin. How wrong I was.
My mate does a couple of Euro trips a year and that year he took the NC two up on both. Performed faultlessly.
Still not a fan of the front end but that wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. But what a lovely motorcycle to ride. I’m an old fart now, so the NC would suite me perfect; twill do anything the wife and I ask of it.
Very fair and balanced short review Mr Taym; as always a very professional vide, a pleasure to watch and listen to.
Thanx Mr Taym, ride safe man.

I have mine up for sale as I fell foul of the silly bad press, I bought a 2015 tracer 900 and regretted it almost immediately. I am considering swapping back. You can have as much fun on the NC when the revs are up and it is much more relaxing and refined cruising on the motorway. Around town and in traffic the "fun" runs out on the Tracer.

Pulled up at the services on a ride from Carlisle to Shropshire. Didn't really need to go in for a brew. I was people watching, opened the frunk for something to do and found a kitkat. Best treat ever. 🤣🤣
