If you can hypnotize the guy and get him to confess, you also could make him think that he actually did it .

A person under hypnosis is extremely vulnerable to suggestion by the hypnotist and could be fed the details of the confession, and coached to believe it.

While in a hypnotic trance, that person's subconscious's self preservation is pushed aside.
Now, as to the outcome of accessing someone' memories can help to push past a persons fears and these concerns can push past and aside a facade of protection to remembering, putting together simingly insignificant memories which alllows this person to recall past events and bringing them into focus.
On the other hand, unscrupulous person can meld the mind of a weak individule to get them to confess to a crime they didn't commit.
This opens up Pandora's Box and can change EVERY lie told into acceptible truth.
Thank God I am not weak minded. Several times in my life people have tried and always failed. THANK GOD!!

Under hypnosis the subject is unable to plea the 5th ammendment. Therefore should not be allowed.

That was a clear violation of his Fifth Amendment right against forced self incrimination.

I saw a hypnosis stage act years ago. The guy had people doing some weird shit. Don't EVER let anyone do that to you, or they will have you groping your sister, or something. A confession under susch circumstances is obviously unreliable.

Does this mean that if someone confesses to a crime while in an altered state from drugs or alcohol that it can't be "reliable" either? You could argue that people are easier to manipulate while they are under the influence, such as with hypnosis. Hmmm...??
