Before you start paying the collection item, ask them for a letter that once paid they’ll delete it from your report. But don’t pay until you have the written notice

Definitely dispute the debt with the credit union. Demand the creditor provide proof of debt. Did you advise your current insurance company you were switching? If so, they typically send notice to the other insurance and that policy gets canceled. Don’t pay them until all avenues exhausted! You’ve worked so hard. Keep going.❤

So bestie... u have made awesome progress. This bump in the road will not undo all that. I suggest you dispute the debt with credit bureaus. If they don't remove it then contact the collection company and tell them u will pay it if they agree in writing to delete it from your credit report. This worked for me b4

Don't beat yourself up over something from the past. Sometimes it's Life. Ignorance is sometimes bliss, sometimes it's a lesson learned. Grow from it. You can do this! Credit report is the one to be concerned about, not credit score. Credit score is based off debts. That's why it's so important to be debt free! It's freedom. Liberty to do what you want with your money.
