This marks the beginning of my, hopefully long, journey with the *2004 Honda Element 5 speed manual. This baby already has over 200k on it, and the Michigan winters have not been nice to it's frame. As life with the Element progresses, I'll give you an update.

Oh, sweetie...my Element is a 2010 with 321, 000 miles on it. I live in Southern Oregon; just took a trip last weekend to Bend, up through the mountains (390 miles round trip). I had another trip to Bend on New Year's Eve day, when it was snowing through the mountains up around Crater Lake, and we were golden. I remember driving about 85 the other day, passing someone on a 4-lane. I usually drive around 72-75 on the highway to work in the mornings. No Problemo. I've got the "thing at the top" on the windows and the front too...I really appreciated that when I had a dog riding with me...or for PNW rain...

I have a 2003 with 226k. Burns no oil between oil changes and runs fantastic.

My father just completed a cross country trip, (NC to WA), about 10 months ago in his 2005 Element. He loved that thing, and it served him well. He ended up staying in Olympia. Sadly, he just passed this week. I plan on keeping the Element, everytime I look at it I think about him.

I was just gifted one last week for my birthday with over 256k miles that is also a rust bucket. Truthfully I don't care what anyone else says I'm rebuilding this bad boy.

Elements have a low center of gravity and a nice wide track, I feel very comfortable driving 75-80 MPH in my Rallye red 2005 AWD automatic with a Deezy full roof rack loaded down with equipment.
Happy motoring, these are great cars!

The head room in these things are amazing, and they're built like a tank. Love them

Greetings, welcome to the Element family! I have a 2003 Honda Element that I have lived out of for 2 years now. Her name is 9th, and she has 231, 000 miles on her today. I have kept up on all of the regular maintenance as well as the big mile maintenance. She has only ever broken down once...but I was still able to limp her 60 miles on the highway at 55 mph. I purchased a 2011 E-camper last year with 190, 000 miles on him, Tank the Toaster! To me they are just broken in. Enjoy miles and miles of smiles! Cheers!

I drive a 2005 Element, automatic transmission. Generally keep it around 75mph on the interstates. It shakes a bit, and it can get loud, but it still feels quite stable.

My 2008 Honda Element is about to clock in at 215k miles and still loving it. The thought of trading it in scares me.

Miles on an Element mean absolutely nothing if they’ve been well maintained. I have three and have zero doubt they will outlive many cars coming off the production line today!

Just got an 06 with 155k miles and other than road noise its feels pretty safe at 70 mph, unless its windy, she tends to get tossed around pretty good.
Ramble on ....

I have a 2007 5 speed automatic Element and I usually keep under 70 mph. I think that 5 speed manual versions rev at a higher RPM at highways speeds.

I feel fine doing 85 mph on the freeway. You might need new struts and alignment. Rear struts were the first thing I did on mine and changed the ride immensely. All the 100K maintenance was overdue. Valve adjustment made a huge difference. Change oil every 3k and learn to replace the vtec filter screens will save you headaches. Hope you enjoy your E for a long time!
