I have a 2 year old and a CX30. It's fine.

We have oned one since 2020 (2021 model) NA engine in Soul Crystal Red and it has been the best car! It's only 2 of us so the back space is never used and friends have never complained about it. I kind of see the CX-30 like a CX-5 "coupe" even though I hate calling anything without 2 doors coupes, but it is like the BMW X2 type vehicle. More sporty than spacious. Though I have hauled a lot of stuff from IKEA and worked just fine!! But Mazda makes a great product and I would definitely buy one again.

We had a CX-30 for our first car in the US. It’s okay for a single person, but it’s just cramped. Wife complained of the window line making it claustrophobic, lots of blind spots and gives her headaches. She’s 5 foot flat. We did a 5 day trip around Arizona, and we realize even with the rear seat folded down we don’t have a lot of space to put our things in the car.

Driving wise it’s very sporty and agile. Nothing flashy, but gives you confidence in driving around curves.

Somehow families were able to fit a family of 4-6 in a sedan a few years ago but now even a perfectly sized smaller SUV is “too small” for people with a kid or 2. Are people secretly hauling around NBA players in their spare time? 🤨

C'mon automakers, stop with the gloss black plastic already. Looks cheap, reflects sunlight, and shows fingerprints and dust.

I love Mazdas, but the CX-30 is more for young people starting out on their own and not for a family car.

I have the ‘24 CX-30 2.5 S (which is the complete basic) and it’s perfect. Yes, there are a few things I’d change but overall I am so in love with my car.

Honestly, they could take all this Mazda goodness that I love so much and implement Honda levels of interior packaging and outward visibility, I would be so happy. Speaking as a current Mazda owner…

Bought this car for our daughter for college. It’s tiny inside. Definitely not a family truckster! 😂

I lease a 2023 cx30 turbo premium. You are completely right about the annoying seat belt warning, the scratched up trim, and the 360 cameras being a must have feature that I should have got on mine, which has no parking sensors either. I think the brakes suck, braking at highway speeds is damn near terrifying. the tires are too narrow, it understeers at higher speeds like it’s on bicycle tires. The fuel tank is tiny, I’m always at the gas putting some odd amount of gas in the tank. I avg about 20mpg and less than 200mi of range. The motor is great, it’s super torquey you almost don’t need an 8 speed. It’s smooth and quiet for a turbo 4. Very quick, great fun to drive, nice cozy interior with a good infotainment it feels like a simpler i-drive system. dimensions are perfect for city parking and also it has a decent turning circle. It could use some more seat bolstering and a more solid door slam feeling. This car made me appreciate Mazda more as a brand, but because of the brakes I won’t keep it after the lease is up. My Mazda dealer was the opposite of a typical sleazy dealer which I’ve actually never seen before, I would consider a cx50 turbo or cx70 turbo if the lease cost is close to what I pay now at $340. Great review from you and the fam, take care.

Your reviews always perk up my day. Love the CX-30, I'm so not a fan of that Sand colour. So boring. Thanks for another terrific review Muzios!

Evie is right about the Taco Bell smell.

I looked hard at the 2022 CX-30 before deciding to wait a while to move on from my current car. I would only want it with the Turbo engine. Testing a couple of different trims, at the time, the Premium Plus was really what I wanted, though I might have been able to settle for a Premium. The non-premium trims were missing too much in several areas. The car world of 2022 with its dealer markups on everything meant that my local Mazda monopoly was pushing the price on the rare Turbo Premium Plus to $40k. At that price, I'd have paid the extra for a Golf R. I likely will revisit the CX 30 in the future, though.

I had to rewind to see the duck right before the Trim Recommendation because it went by so fast I thought I was seeing things. Like “did I just see a duck”?😂

Nice, that you can touch the screen instead of just messing with the NobbyJobby, couldn't resist it!
Best small family review on You tube.

Great vehicle & I own one currently, but not the vehicle segment to purchase if aren't into smaller vehicles as a preference, need a lot of cargo space, or plan to seat adults in the rear seats. Should be a no-brainer to understand this, but many apparently don't. If you want/need more cargo/hauling space & rear seating comfort then buy the next segment up (such as a CX-5 or larger), instead of whining that the CX-30 is too small.
