I use a screen protector (Spigen 2-pack for like $13 on Amazon) so that when I resell my phone the original screen is flawless. Why not let the protector take all the micro scratches. Plus it saved my screen from a nasty drop.

That was interesting about the screen protector. But I feel the better use of one is to help keep your glass from cracking when it's dropped by reducing the stress on the original glass by doubling up so to speak.

Ive been buying $7 privacy screen protectors from amazon and they have saved my phone quite a few times. Granted, they do crack when dropped a certain way but that extra layer of protection is certainly worth it. Mainly because it's protecting my $1000+ phone that I practically throw on the ground on a daily basis.

I use the spigen screen protector that covers the screen perfectly because I want to keep it mint in case I sell it. And the spigen feels exactly like the actual screen on my 13 pro max.

The thing with having a screen protector is that it'll take the hit for your iphone screen. I've seen many a screen protectors cracked but the iPhone screen underneath was fine.

Screen protector and silicone case saved my phone multiple times on my long hikes. They work. They’re made to take all the damage.

I have a screen protector on my iPhone, but it’s not to protect the screen so much as it is for privacy. I have a ‘privacy’ screen protector and from certain angles, (like from someone sitting next to me), my screen is darkened and obscured. That being said, I did drop my previous iPhone once and the screen protector cracked, but the phone’s screen did not. While I can’t prove it without dropping the phone withiut the screen protector in the same angle on the same surface, it seems to me that the protector took the brunt of the impact and protected my phone screen. So, while a screen protector is not necessary to keep your screen from getting scratched by keys, coins or a pocket knife, from a privacy perspective and a dropping perspective, a screen protector can come in handy. I’ve never been worried about scratching the screen and that’s not why I buy/use a screen protector.

I am 70 years old. I have never put my iPhone in the toilet. I have never dropped my iPhone. I treat my iPhone like my grandchildren. Anyone who does not treat an iPhone like an infant deserves the problems they get. I was a computer programmer for 35 years. I purchased my first iPhone as an iPhone 5. Learn to take care of such an expensive product as an iPhone and you will teach yourselves how to get rich.

since a screen protector isn't needed, what about a phone case? I've always hated having to buy a phone case for two reasons. 1) they add SOO much to the phone thickness. My 13 Pro Max is wonderfully thin and feels wonderful in my hand but the case adds thickness and weight. and 2) they hide the beauty of the phone. So, which is it?

You guys are really informative but I’m always gonna use a screen protector

I am 100% sure that my phone with a screenprotector looks better after two years of usage than a phone without one. Besides that i am also pretty sure that my screenprotector took a hit on the concrete, cracking into pieces but my screen was ok, i agree with most of your points but no screenprotector is a big no no for me.

I think it’s nice to have a screen protector, it can save your screen from getting scratched. I both 4 of them for like 4€ on aliexpress. So they are not even expensive.

Good information to know in this video! But, going to also disagree on the screen protector. If you handle it perfectly all the time, sure you don’t need one. But if it occasionally falls or in adverse conditions regularly I’d highly recommend one. Better to replace a $5 piece of glass then the hundreds your screens costs. Is it perfect? No, but boy does it help.

I’ve had my XS Max for 4 years and my Max Capacity is now showing 89%. Dropping 11% over 4 years is pretty good in my view.
