This advice works well for people/families that visit Disney habitually. I feel that people that come from other countries (like me) or cannot afford constant visits don't have the liberty to take it slow because it can literally be our one and only visit 😢.

Agreed. My daughter and I dialed way back on the scheduling and planning last time we went. Much more pleasurable.

!!!YES!!! Thank You!! Going with my in-laws, too, is SO Different than going with just my own family. It’s more relaxing and less stressful - in Disney ways (not family ways). It’s so nice!! on the Disney front.

This is actually why I like Disneyland more than disney world, there’s less pressure to do everything, and it’s more about the vibes

One thing that really allowed us to enjoy our trip to Disneyland the most we could was taking a break. We took ours from around 3 pm to 5 or a similar time frame. Usually before our break we would be doing an activity which never gets a long line. We'd leave for dinner then come back at around the time a lot of families who didn't take breaks would leave. It also kept us out of the heat for the most part and definitely allowed us to do more.

Totally agree. We enjoy the parks so much more now that our kids are all adults. We stop and watch street performers, do some of the walk through attractions, see more of the shows. Rides are a part of the day, but not the reason we go. It's so much more relaxing for us. Of course, it will mean different things to each individual, so do what you want!

First time returning to Disney as an adult, over a decade ago, I went with some Disney friends and we were sprinting all day. Since then, I've gone on my own a lot and I've come to adore all the small, quieter details of the parks. It's like savoring a nice glass of wine versus trying to chug the bottle and get as wasted as possible.

Every year in the summer me and my family go to Disney for the week. This is our layout for the trip.
Day 1: Get to Disney, chill at the resort, go to the park at night.
Day 2: Park Day
Day 3: Park Day
Day 4: Resort/Disney Springs day
Day 5: Park Day
Day 6: Park Day
Day 7: Resort/ Disney Springs day until flight.

This works out great as we can do everything we want without feeling super tired. (You can use this plan if you want too, we don’t care)

P.S there are 4 of us

My family always does a resort day where we go to the pool, arcade, gift shop, and just relax and breathe. It’s always in the middle of our trip so we can have a day to ourselves.

You have to have money and more than one opportunity to go to Disneyland in order to relax lol. Some of us had to fit everything into our trip because we don't know if we'd be back

Since we are DVC members and are able to visit regularly, we sometimes enjoy stays without ever stepping foot in the parks and just enjoy all the interesting stuff to do outside the park, also visiting some lesser known attractions around Orlando, like Bok Tower Garden or explore the hotels.

This is perfect. The best way to experience it is to relax and enjoy it. Also, put down the camera and actually SEE what's there. Memories are made from the experience, not the photos.

When we went in the summer of 89, we never went to the park before 5pm. It was open until midnight, got on the rides with minimal wait times, were not melting and returned to the Grand Floridian in time to use the pool after. Slept in, had breakfast and lunch when we wanted.

We usually show up around noon and leave when it gets too stressful maybe 2pm or so 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

That's what I do whenever I go to Disneyland. We take breaks, sometimes. Whether it's on our way to a ride or sometimes it's a reservation at a restaurant. Because sometimes it's just good to relax and sit back and people watch.

Just take some breaks during the day. When our kids were young and in school, we had to go in July or August. We didn't want to go in June and then the fun was all over, because the anticipation is some of the best part of the experience! In July and August it gets super hot, so when the heat of the afternoon I would go to first day to take a nap, and I really needed it. I'm handicapped, and I'm also really fair skinned, so no amount of sunblock helps me enough. That little break at first State helped me so much!
There are several places around Disney World that have a little cool breezy areas. One is behind the place that used to be a perfume shop, it's somewhere in the area near the haunted mansion, and if you go behind the shop which might sell cookies now, you can see big thunder across the lagoon or whatever that body of water is, or maybe you could see Tom Sawyer's island. Anyway, just look around and you'll find some cool shady areas. There's one near the jungle Cruise.

It made my honeymoon so much better. Sure we had one scheduled thing a day (which could be canceled if we didn’t feel like it) but it left the rest of the day to explore and enjoy

last time i was at disneyland the literal day before i was across the country at my grandmas funeral. sleepless nights over there followed by whatever time disney opened to the very close, with like a break a day (lunch), and then sleep for like 6 hours. for three days. weirdest vacation ever 😭🤚
