Sibilance is the phonetics that make hissing sounds. Often a problem for sound mixing and editing. Phonetics like s, sh, t, and ch. These are known as the sibilant phonetics. "I slit the sheet, the sheet I slit, and on the slitted sheet I sit". That is full of sibilance.

"Sibilance" is what Meatwad said into the microphone when he was "checkin' the mic". I've never taken the time to look it up, but I'll probably do so right after I make this comment. But, yeah. No one's fooling themselves when they walk into a Taco Bell. Nobody goes there for the high quality beef. You go there for a fix. A salt and cheese fix. It's not good for you, and everyone knows it.
