👀 Convert's EYE-OPENING Reaction at LDS General Conference

18 months ago, I was invited to attend General Conference – a semi-annual gathering for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

At the time, I was on a personal journey, exploring a wide range of different churches as a Protestant. Part of me was hesitant to accept the invitation, unsure of what to expect, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to experience something new.

What I encountered was far beyond what I anticipated. The stark contrast between the chaotic street preachers hurling insults outside and the peaceful, unifying choir singing praises inside the Conference Center left me absolutely stunned. It was a moment of deep reflection.

After another year of investigation, study, and spiritual growth, I made the decision to be baptized this past April. Now, 18 months after that life-changing General Conference, I returned – but this time, as a member of the Church.

In this video, I share my thoughts and reflections on how my perspective has evolved since that pivotal day and what this year’s General Conference experience was like as someone on the inside.

I was a Baptist and evangelical before and I had a personal revelation YES, a direct personal revelation from God Himself and he showed me that I needed to join His Glorious work of the restoration and last days. Today as a lamanite I understand and even makes more sense all of these blessings.

I was at the same session with my family. I’m a lifelong member, but it’s the first time I had ever been. That children’s choir was on another level, and the whole thing was a profound spiritual experience. The protestors kind of make me sad, but they kind of don’t matter in the long run. The work rolls on.

Hi David, trust me, you fit in. More than fit in. I’ve been a member for 26 years. I’ve only been to 4 temples. You know more about the church history than many members of the church. I’ve never been to Utah (I didn’t feel the need, we have a temple in our area) or any church historic site. I live in US. I hold a temple recommend, serve as a temple worker. I’m happy.

Dude, I don't comment on videos much, but I love hearing you talk. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it feels like to me that so many people that I love have chosen to leave the church and even abandon their faith in Christ. And it's fine. They have their reasons. But sometimes it just makes me feel sad that this thing that brings me so much joy doesn't do the same for them. But hearing that there are others such as yourself who are finding value in the what we find at church just brings me hope. I love your well reasoned and honest thoughts on all of this. My cute daughter was blessed to participate in the children's choir, and we are so grateful for that! Each rehearsal was so powerful, but when they sang the day of Conference, it did feel like a Heavenly choir! No wonder our beloved Savior has asked us to be like little children!
