One of only a few war games that I personally feel made me feel like I was fighting, You don't go in a battle alone from start to finish, The Soviet Campaign was honestly incompareable to any new WWII game I've played. It might be Nostalgia, Sure. But whenever I'd replay the first two missions of the Soviet Campaign, I just feel dread, I felt like I was there and the AI was my comrade, And we are both equally treated like meat shields trying to rush a Trench weaponized with MG42s. COD 1 will forever remain not a game, But an atmospheric master piece that no game as of yet was able to capture the essence of.
