This video goes through Albert Bandura's model of Moral Disengagement, explaining its origins, the mechanisms included in the model, how it applies to the corporate world, and some comments on research and limitations of the model. Moral disengagement has been developed as a concept looking at the ways in which individuals may suppress their moral values or boundaries to enable themselves to take part in detrimental or harmful behaviour.

It is helpful to have titles for the moral disengagement styles, but if you see it happening, telling those people they are "morally deflecting using advantageous comparison" is not going to change their mind.

Stories are helpful. The note you made about the Nuremburg trials was helpful. Military personnel have already tried to defend their actions with "I was just following orders" and the defense failed.

Employees still says :
"I have to do this because I was told to."
" I have no choice."

"That's not my problem. I just do what I am told."
