strangely my linux ec2 server was assigned a public ip address during installation that is already associated with a company. That is, when I went the ip address in a browser, a company's web page appeared, not my server.
the elastic ip setup resolved that problem. thanks!

Due to autoscaling, my existing instances gets destroyed and AWS creates new instances. Since existing instances gets closed, the static IP address mapping gets destroyed as well and I have to map the static ip with the new instance again. How do I solve this problem?
