Meryl Streep’s secret tragedy

We all love Hollywood star Meryl Streep, but do you know the tragedy that shaped her career?

While she was a young theatre actress living in New York, Meryl fell in love with fellow actor John Cazale.

The couple were the toast of New York, loved by their peers, including Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, and critics alike.

But, in 1977 John was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and Meryl did all she could to stay by his side.

She took roles that she hated just to pay the medical bills, such as her Oscar nominated role in The Deer Hunter and her Emmy-winning role in TV miniseries, Holocaust.

When John tragically passed away in 1978, Meryl was heartbroken. But that very same year, she became a star.

Meryl uses her fame and influence to speak out about issues she feels strongly about, including Donald Trump, the freedom of the press and women’s rights.

I second that notion that "Meryl Streep" is not over-rated. Even Bette Davis, saw and viewed her performances and realized this is a great actress and said, " I hope someday to work with you!" Meryl Streep still has that note from Bette Davis. We all know Bette Davis was one of the finest actresses so who could go against her opinion?

This was what happened when JC died. The love they had for each other was immense. To me this is one of the greatest love stories in history.
