I would like to share my story. I started watching your videos at the start of the year. I am from Ecuador. On the practice tests I was getting 1500s. The first time I took it I got 1350. I cried, could not believe it. But I kept going. I just got a 1490 on the digital Sat.. Thank you for everything, I do not even know you but I can tell you are a wonderful person. Besides that, I am 17 and this might sound very weird but you are very cute. ❤

i've taken the SAT three times in a row, and I find myself perplexed and disheartened by the scoring algorithm. In the June SAT, my math score was 780, despite having all the blocks filled in my score report. However, in my latest attempt, things took a turn for the worse. With only one block incorrect, I experienced a deduction of 120 marks. I must express my frustration; it's challenging to accept these outcomes after putting in so much effort over these three attempts.
The English section presents a similar situation. In the October SAT, I had five blocks wrong, resulting in a deduction of 170 marks. This December, with only three blocks incorrect, I still faced a deduction of around 140 marks. From this comparison, I estimate that each block corresponds to only 15-20 points. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide insights into how the algorithm operates. Addressing and rectifying the numerous flaws in the digital SAT is crucial, particularly for international students like myself who are grappling with the challenges of the system.

Hi! Yes that is frustrating. If you’re looking at a math category that has 15 questions in it, one “block” represents two questions. Plus, there’s the odd question out not counted. My guess is that when you got the 780, you missed one but the blocks were all filled in which is deceiving. As far as missing 2 blocks, that would be 4 questions. If all 4 were hard questions (each hard question is with 30 points), that is 4 x 30 = 120. However, I am not sure how you could have a 120 point deduction only missing one block?!? There are less questions on this test so you have to be perfect or close to it. Your margin for error is slim!!

Please can you explain how the scoring works because the first time I took it I had two blocks wrong and I was deducted 120 points, now I had just one block wrong and was deducted 110 points, it doesn't make any sense

how does this “pronoun trick” work? because i know that in the text the subject may go by a different pronoun (it, they, we, etc.), and if I get only two working, do I have to refine from there?
